Curiouser vouchers and print ad

Photobucket

Yay, as a response to both request and suggestion, I have designed some Curiouser gift vouchers, and they are here! I have Curiouser's postcards and vouchers printed through PrintTogether - all environmentally friendly - and they do an awesome job :) Gift vouchers cost $3 (including postage) plus the value of the voucher.

I've also got in my hot little hands the latest edition of Hillscene, a local zine for the Dandenong Ranges, and the Curiouser print ad inside the front cover looks pretty nice... the design is really similar to one I have in Dumbo Feather's latest issue, which I seem to have lost at the moment. When I find it, I will photograph that one too, it is very exciting!

Yellow flowers and photographing Newcastle (Hunter Valley)

We'd driven past so many of these glorious yellow fields on the way to Adelaide two and a half weeks ago, and Sienna and I had made plans to stop on the way home to take some photos. However, when our trip expanded from 6 days to 17 or so, a lot of the fields were gone that had been there before. Cut, or just more sparse flowers. And then with one boy or another asleep at various times, it seems that we would miss out altogether.

I even thought to myself, I am clearly a mother first and a photographer second, I won't wake a baby to get a good photo, LOL. Well, not on a 9 hour drive anyway. SO I really thought we would miss out but then on our way to Ballarat, almost at the freeway, there were a few last fields, all the kids were awake and we were due to stretch our legs. I pulled down a country road and we hopped out here (above)...
This boy is feeling better...

This photo (below) I actually love best in black and white, I put it up on the Curiouser facebook page, but thought I'd pop up the colour one to show you both versions.

And in Curiouser news, the lovely Kate has convinced me to visit the Newcastle / Hunter Valley area for a weekend of photo sessions! Yay! I've never been there and I do love new places.... I am thinking... perhaps... November 19-21, 26-28 or Dec 3-5 are possible dates. The session fee will be $200 (all other prices are on the price list, you can download it from the website), which includes a $50 credit for purchasing digital files or prints. As a special bonus for these sessions, all print orders (not including digital pictures, only physical print orders) will receive a free 8"x12" print of their choice!

For information, price list and galleries, check out the Curiouser website and contact Karen or myself with any questions or booking enquiries :)

Still here and on the way up (and, hopefully, out!)

Still needing a smidge of oxygen, but down to only one antibiotic, appetite increasing and getting so much better!
The thingy (on his toe) that measures his oxygen saturation, the number that guides our days (and nights)...

Getting about the hospital room...

The picture Sienna made for him, which she tries to take home with her every time she visits :P The concept of a gift doesn't always sink in... :)
My set up...
And Cedar's stash of playthings, some ours and some the hospital's, in front of the fold-out sofa that is the parents bed.

Ben flew over on Saturday morning and, after spending a night with the older kids at my folks place, stayed in the hospital for a couple of nights. I had a bit of freedom and pizza and managed to pick up a few handy things from the shops. He flew home again last night. It looks like we will drive home this weekend at this point, though it is a waiting game with no guarantees, of course. 12 nights and days so far.

This weekend Outback Pride are at the Adelaide Good Food Show at Wayville Showgrounds, for any Adelaide peeps who like yummy scrummy things... I might see if I can pop in to the Bowerbird Bazaar that is on Friday night or Saturday. Depending on what has been happening! But I do hope so, it looks fab, and since I'm missing the Finders Keepers market all you Melbourne lovelies will no doubt be visiting...

AND THEN next weekend (16th / 17th October) I will be back to complete some of the postponed Curiouser photo sessions! Here is another shot - above - from the session I did fit in this trip before Cedar got sick... I have a slot or two free, so if anyone was thinking about it, let me know - prices and info here and my email is danielle@curiouser.com.au :)

Ooh, and Kell also has one in there!

Hayley's sneak peeks

Last week, the kids and I drove to Adelaide on Wednesday. On Thursday afternoon I did a mini-session with my sister Hayley and nephew Caden. I found a little wild spot on the side of the road just on the outskirts of Hahndorf and we stomped around for half an hour... In the end, the other five sessions planned had to be cancelled / postponed due to Cedar's hospitalisation (yep, still here, but hopefully not for too much longer), so I was glad to have squeezed one in at least while I was here. Especially since photo sessions were the reason we were here anyway!

Haven't quite finished editing yet, here is a little taste to begin with.
