Inspire Me TONIGHT!

OK so tonight is the official time for my "Inspire Me" online class, though actually you can buy the class and do it whenever you want (you get the instructions as a pdf, by email!).

But if you wanna do the class and chat and stuff, tonight is the night. It's not too late to buy the workshop only and join in tonight, or buy the whole kit and just join in to chat tonight - check it out here at ScrapBoutique.

Here are a couple of inside pages to give you a taste....

Memory Makers and a Giveaway

Well I mentioned a few weeks back that my first layout published internationally is 'Introspection, Baby', in the current March/April issue of Memory Makers magazine. I just received my layout back yesterday along with two copies of the mag, though I already have one, and my sister already has one. So I decided it is a good chance to celebrate this milestone (for me) with a giveaway!

As well as the mag itself, it will contain an assortment of COOL THINGS to play with, including fabric, paper goodies, fun details and stuff like that. Just leave a comment on this post telling me what you do like or would like to read/see on my blog.

I will draw the giveaway on Wednesday morning the 2nd April, about 8:30am Australian Eastern Standard time. Internationals are welcome to enter too!

In other news, here is the picture as promised to Sylvia of Sienna wearing the adorable belt Sylvia sent her - she loves it :)

Inspired by Amelie

I did this layout today for this blog. I adore the film Amelie, and was inspired both by the setting - Montmartre, Paris + the cafe where Amelie works - and the dramatic, saturated colour scheme. It was really thrown together and painted a lot, which was A LOT of fun :)

I got an exciting collection of parcels in the mail today, most for Q Tea kit ingredients and one special box from my beautiful friend Sylvia. I will try and photograph the contents tomorrow, but Sienna is already wearing her "special seat belt" that she totally loves! I'm not sure why she thinks a belt (for her waist) is a seatbelt though, LOL.

Online Class and Memory Makers layouts

So my online class 'Inspire Me' for ScrapBoutique is in a week and I'm looking forward to it! A note for anyone who is still thinking about it - you don't actually have to be available on the night, as the instructions are in a pdf that will be emailed days in advance. And if you have any questions while doing the class, you can just email me personally!

This means international scrappers are also able to do the class if you wish, as you can purchase the 'class only' from ScrapBoutique and do the class at your leisure and with your own choice of products. Fun fun :)

Well I've found out that one of my submissions to the 2008 Memory Makers comp (last year) is being published in the special 'Best of the Masters' issue in June. This means I can share with you the other four layouts I submitted and that contributed to my being chosen as a runner-up. That still makes me smile :)

Creating today and a week ago or something

I did this one (Strong Fairy) tonight for Celine's challenge on her blog - Prima flowers, American Crafts patterned paper and sticker alphabet and Rouge de Garance patterned paper and rub-ons. Also a bit of my new Hambly, some pearly Making Memories paint and a couple of details from Q Tea's March kit.

This one is with the Hambly I won in February's blog giveaway - how exciting! It arrived here when I was in Adelaide, but when I got back I had a play. That was last week, but all I did at the time was paint cream over the silver background paper (around the swirly leaf pattern). This afternoon I did the rest.

This canvas I did at Crop For Kids on Saturday, behind Kiti Q's shop that was there when there were quiet periods. Just using whatever I had bought that day, including some foam stamps from the trash and treasure. It was a great day, and they raised over their target, at least $11000, so that was brilliant.

This layout I did using lots of things from Q Tea's March kit.

Finally, this layout is the first I did when I got back from Adelaide. I was super happy to get the new Bam Pop range from Kiti Q, and made this layout using a couple of the papers, a die-cut frame and some Bam Pop chipboard. It also has a few details from Q Tea's March kit, some Hambly rub-ons and some cute stickers that I got in The Dozens Feb kit.

Some more rejects... LOL

These two were for Memory Makers cover calls but weren't selected. Actually 'climb' tied for the cover for the March/April issue but when it came to a vote the other one won (and I agree with that decision - check out the mag, the cover is very cool!). As far as I can tell, all the current Masters and the runners-up are invited to submit, so it's pretty talented competition. The photo on 'The Real Me' is by the gorgeous Donna Wild. I can't help but think I was being optimistic when I made that layout though. Oh well, a bit of optimism can't hurt!

Something exciting is that my first international publication is in that issue - March/April Memory Makers - in the 'Art Journaling' article. They photographed it beautifully, on a glossy red table and with twigs around it, I will take a photo later and post it here :)

January Layouts

These were all for a Memory Makers page call (so couldn't be shared), but as none were requested, here they are!

Far Far Away

Well, not that far. Just Adelaide. As usual ;)

Here are some faves from the recent photo shoot for Perfect Amity - gorgeous knitted hats in fruity and floral themes! It was such a hot day for the shoot, but the kids did really well and all looked super cute in their little beanies.

Had a great time hanging out with the gorgeous Viv, Jason, Jameela and Luna at Noarlunga Beach yesterday afternoon. I usually feel like a bit of an idiot when I meet new people or meet people in real life, I feel self-conscious (you know?) and weirdly chatty. Something I love about Viv is that hanging out with her doesn't necessarily make me NOT feel like an idiot, LOL, but it makes me feel like it wouldn't even matter if I was... it's just all relaxed and whatever and fun anyway. Sienna adored the girls, though there always seemed to be some emotional outburst happening from one child or another (Ash included). It was quite funny.

Today I want to get some photos printed and I think we'll try and catch up with another person or two - it is one day that is not scheduled yet, but as it is now 9:30 I think I'd better stop working and computer-ing and start organising!
