To market to market

These shots are of my market stall at GrassRoots, in Upwey, just over a week ago. It went quite well, though it had kind of an accidental vibe. As in "oh, look, a market, I'll have a look"!.

The next market I'll be at is Mulgrave Maker's Market on December 19th, and I'm still tossing up whether to do the twilight market on December 22nd - what do you think?

Here are a couple of new canvases I did before GrassRoots. I only sold one canvas that day, which was unfortunately before I took photos of all the new ones, so I don't have a picture of that one. Oops! I will just have to make another, as it was one of my favourites! So another thing I'm tossing up at the moment, is, do I add these to my madeit shop? There are a bunch more, they are mostly 8"x10" for $30 each and there are a few 12"x12" for $40. Then make more for the market? Or.... take the pressure off and hold on to my market stock? Thoughts, anyone? Online shoppers and market goers alike?

Scrapping in Ice Blue and Lilac

I used a paper napkin for the background of this page, a bit of washi tape, some paper lace, rub-ons... and a hand-cut title! I have been enjoying the occasional A4 page lately, too :) This one was for the current issue of Scrapbook Creations colour team.

Kell, Roh & crew sneak peeks

This morning I had a great time in my local studio photographing my gorgeous big sis Kelly, her hubby Roh and their three kidlets Alannah, Jude and Levi, my beautiful niece and nephews! Sneaky peeks in record time :)

On their way

To me from the UK, I bought this lovely lovely set of decorative Rob Ryan plates as a little treat for my home from Bodie and Fou. I just got an email that they are on their way!

Dakoda and Anne-Marie

One of my recent Adelaide sessions, meet little Dakoda and her mum Anne-Marie. We did the session in and around my parent's house in Mount Barker, as Anne-Marie is a friend of my sister Hayley :)

Curiouser at home... Sylvia and Jeff, Hamburg, Germany

Welcome to a new feature on my blog... Curiouser at home! Suggested by my gorgeous friend Sylvia, of Artsy Ants, and inspired by the fabulous Tara Whitney, this is a chance for you to show me what your spaces look like with a Curiouser ingredient or two.

First up, here is the apartment home of Sylvia, Jeff and little Spencer (1), in the St Pauli area of Hamburg, Germany. My home away from home ;)

I love how they have this series hanging down the wall near the kitchen, opposite the dining nook in there.
And the black and white canvas on the shelf looks fantastic, doesn't Sylvia have a brilliant eye for display? I love the feel of it, the handmade and the musical touches.

If anyone has a space they'd like to share, please do! Just email me images at danielle@curiouser.com.au :)

Contributing to Maeve!

Check out the Summer edition of Maeve, a fabulous online women's magazine. I wrote 'Me and My Bestie' for this issue about my friend Sylvia of Artsy Ants, and Sylvia contributed her perspective as well :) The music recommendations were also selected by me, yay! And there is even a Curiouser ad in there somewhere...

Hunter Valley / Newcastle and family session fun

And in Curiouser news, the lovely Kate has convinced me to visit the Newcastle / Hunter Valley area for a weekend of photo sessions! Yay! I've never been there and I do love new places.... I am thinking... perhaps... November 19-21, 26-28 or Dec 3-5 are possible dates. The session fee will be $200 (all other prices are on the price list, you can download it from the website), which includes a $50 credit for purchasing digital files or prints. As a special bonus for these sessions, all orders will receive a free 8"x12" print of their choice!

For information, price list and galleries, check out the Curiouser website and contact Karen or myself with any questions or booking enquiries :)

And here is a selection from one of October's Adelaide family sessions!

Scrapping SC and Scrapboxx

This layout was from the Top 10 - masking - of the October Scrapbook Creations... one of my favourite recent layouts, actually!

This next assignment was for Scrapboxx and was to be inspired by neo-impressionism. When I read up on it, the genre wasn't very concrete, except that it was agreed to have begun with this famous Seurat painting. So I decided to start with that. It is a bit muted for my liking, but the papers I had handy (and I had about an hour free to do this in!) suited well enough.

Cedar is really funny at the moment, his favourite word is "Ash" and he was sitting in his cot in the wee hours, just practising saying it to himself... "Ash.... Ash... Ash". He does actually realise who he is referring to, but also just seems pretty happy saying the name!

Canvas art for sale

These are the canvases I made in 12"x12" ($40 each) and 8"x10" ($30 each) that didn't sell at October's market... but it looks like I'm doing a local market in November! So I'm glad to have some stock all ready to go :) These all feature in my Curiousity Blossoms calendar on redbubble!
